I envisioned afternoons spent lounging around with books, toasting granola on the stove, going to bookstores and bakeries alike. I'm glad to say that these visages were indeed fulfilled, but not so to say that 'afternoon' came in the singular form, not plural.
For that brief span of a weekend extended from Friday to Monday, I (except my poor feet) experienced bliss. Besides doing these, I got to check a couple of things off my to-do list, which was planned prior to my assessments (see how far-sighted I am?), deliver presents to a dear friend and finish off an entire series of novels so bad that no one would bat an eyelid if I were to openly critique them to no end. The only downside to it all was me limping along for the next week sporting blisters so horrid eyes would scar. Thanks, new shoes and too-short socks.
Right now, though, I'm trying to find some semblance of normalcy amidst all this insanity of late. Showers amidst stagnant, humid weather, plants which usually remain verdant green bursting into vibrant hues, surviving rollercoaster-ing emotions with the reveal of marks...
Still, I'm trying to stay positive and focusing on checking boxes off my to-do list, which includes numerous visits to multiple museums (whoopee!).
So there's that. Scroll on for more photographs and click here for some images from an old exhibition at ASM.
to be continued.
