If I could imagine what the weather was doing, I'd think that it's being particularly angsty. No, I don't kid. I never kid. (okay, perhaps during this instance...) Still, the weather's displaying characteristic of a typical teenager, complete with mood swings, occasional bouts of anger and sullenness. In short, not being the most pleasant.
I took some of these photos a fortnight ago (the cafe ones) in shade which did nothing to shade us against that blisteringly broiling afternoon sun when cheesecakes nearly melted and ice melted within five minutes. And now, it's raining almost every afternoon at around four. Hooray for getting soaked and squelchy.
Despite teenage-ry weather, there is still cause for celebrating. i.e. a rather pathetic excuse of a week-long 'holiday', but a break nevertheless. I've got some things up my sleeve, including lots of work thrown in, but do stay tuned for updates. Here's what's been happening of late:
#1 I cut my hair!
#2 Just got a new project going on for art very aptly entitled Doors.
#3 Been baking, baking and baking cakes - the flame is rekindled.
#4 We went to The Dispensary for urban sketching, where I discovered that I completed sketches 1.5x more quickly than everyone else. *monkey covering mouth emoji* - you can find a previous post on this cafe here
#5 Started a bloglovin page (two, actually, for breakfast & sweets). You can follow me here and here.
#1 I've been cultivating a sourdough starter in my kitchen, which emits tantalizingly noxious fumes of fermentation. Perhaps this would be a better alternative...
#2 With the still-sweltering weather, I think that this is an incredibly brilliant idea.
#3 This post my Molly (Yeh) is giving me all the feels.
#4 Been hooked to ridiculously good + pricey creme de marrons of late. I need a homemade version; this one by me should do the trick.
#5 This faux fish-veggie recipe by my friend Trine over at Milking Almonds is pure genius.
#6 She's done it again here.
