Give me adventure, I say. Give me the freedom to explore, to roam and set sail. Give me places to visit, things to see and do. Let me live life to the fullest. Those are the things I yearn for most deeply.
I yearn for the words to describe them, but I haven't any right now. Nothing comes to mind - a blank slate. I can't seem to bring up much, like water slipping through between fingers. Perhaps it's for the best, since sometimes, it's best not to over-think, but experience.
It wasn't too long ago, this trip (okay, if you consider two months short). We went out to the Dispensary, dad and I. We drove down to Tiong Bahru, which is some kind of a 'shophouse town' with endless shophouses, little back alleys and spiral staircases.
We'd driven past this street dozens of times, but have never dropped in before. Till that day.
We stepped in, out of the afternoon heat and into blissful chilled air scented with coffee. Orders were placed, a slice of cake, latte and coffee served, and toting the tray, we went upstairs to the terrace. 'Twas rather peaceful, a balcony nestled between houses, the dim roar of traffic in the background. That afternoon, we talked, we laughed, we fooled around with the camera, and overall, we had a good time.
