WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL THIS TIME?
My friend, it has been too long. Simply too long that I've gone without you, without having known you, tasted you, experienced your finery and richness. Yes, you're that good. Better than regular granola, in fact, seeing that you make an effort to hurry up. (shhh, don't tell them I said that)
The only thing that I don't really like about you is, well, how you tempt me. I know that I should probably keep my sweet tooth under control and not let it lead me to All-That-Is-Sweet-And-Good, but you, you're irresistible. That golden tan of yours, not to mention how glossy you are (way better than Kim's rump when she #broketheinternet, I assure you), the sweet notes you send me with every crunch which sends me into enrapture and reaching for another piece...
Like I said, you're irresistible in your golden glory.
Don't even try to deny it - you can't. How can you even do so when you've got all those bold flavors running through you and that crunch which gives your presence away? Totally. Admit it, you and I both know you've got what it takes to be the next big thing. You're quick, you're simple, you're divinely flavorful. I think that there's hardly a cereal out there who can best you. Anyone who denies that can try to prove me wrong. I dare them to. Mark my words.
Right now, though it's almost ten, I think that I'll be off to make another batch of you guys so I can crunch on some of you when I'm watching the midnight showing of this. Way better than corny ol' popcorn. Get ready for some heart-stopping, eye-popping, hair-raising action.
This granola impresses. It truly does. A thin coating of maple syrup over clusters of oat grains studded with almonds, raisins, pepitas, and perhaps sesame. It's simple. It's minimal. It's the kind of recipe which you can customize to your needs and wants. (actually, it isn't so much of a recipe, more of a methodology) Here are some other possible ingredient additions:
As for consumption, one can either have it as
a) in a parfait (see my soygurt recipe here + a compote of heated, mashed berries and a pinch of sugar; optional)
b) with milk
c) as clusters for snacking
d) a topping for oatmeal, porridge etc.
e) and many more ways...
