Lately, school's started for a couple of weeks now and I've been trying to get back to the usual routines of everyday life, amidst more work than ever before. It seems rather maudlin, of how I keep reminiscing about new york and comparing things here at home to those there (why can't we have more inexpensive almond milk?). Telling myself to put a lid on it doesn't help much when I keep seeing reminders of that trip here and there - the pair of toms by the door, the jar of halva spread in the kitchen.
The process of re-adjusting and re-adapting is akin to shifting in your seat - vaguely uncomfortable but bearable. After all, waking up half an hour earlier and not having the liberty to attend morning yoga classes is to a degree, crippling. But I'm getting there. I'm getting there.
These are some articles and links that are keeping me going. I hope you find them meaningful, interesting, or just plain entertaining.
#1 Tips for Keeping That Post-Vacation Feeling (Please do check this one out - it took me twenty minutes to find it!)
The momofuku cookies are gone, and the tub of Whole Foods' almond butter is nearly empty, but scrapbooking photos from the trip and journaling certainly do help. Having a photo of corners of new york as every single of your wallpapers certainly does, too.
#2 Sunday Routines by NYT
There's just something so magical about weekend mornings - finding out what Bill Nye does on his makes it even more so.
#3 Is Sushi ‘Healthy’? What About Granola? Where Americans and Nutritionists Disagree
This is why people subscribe to NYT, y'all.
#4 How to make the perfect salad
I've got this whole love-hate relationship with salads. Love the grain-based ones, hate Caesar (and not just because of shakespeare). This makes me love them a little more.
#5 20 Yummy Rice Bowl Recipes
(Rice) bowls are on the list too.
#6 Pumpkin biryani with pistachios
I've been packing lunches for school and this more than makes the cut, along with some tofu in a peanut-soy sauce.
#7 Chalkboard Mag
This site is definitely design-goals. It's become one of the first few sites I check up on every day.
#8 May-Jun Spotify Playlist
Good music for every occasion. Not the most creative title, but these are what I've been listening to for the past two months. (They're embedded in the side column of the home and recipe pages too psst)
To be continued.
