I'm one to gift. It's true. I believe in gifting with full sincerity and thoughtfulness. Come every season with a reason for celebration, I come bearing a present. And most times, weeks go by before I find a suitable gift that meets expectations. I don't know why, but it seems to be in my innate nature, this love of handing over a neatly wrapped package and waiting for the smile that comes (usually).
They're interesting gifts - handcrafted soaps, a 'kit for Friday nights' which included a movie and cocoa powder, foam slippers which had sushi velcro-ed on top. Once, I gave a friend a cure for snakes - with a snake stuffed toy (though I do admit that while it was effective, it seems rather cruel on hindsight). Either way, I gift, and I revel in celebration. I go out of my way to make that day special. And memorable.
*27.07.15 update: Scrubidoo has now been renamed Basic Theory
Two weeks back, I was contacted by Scrubidoo Official to do a product review for them. With the cold season upon us, as well as Christmas round the corner, Scrubidoo makes an ideal gift for friends, family, or yourself.
So, what exactly is Scrubidoo? It's a locally-based company who produce lovely, lovely tea + coffee scrubs which are handmade every part of the process. They're really fragrant (the scrubs, not the company) and each batch comes in these lovingly packed paper bags. Scrubidoo believes in keeping everything in its most natural state, as well as being eco-friendly, which is why their scrubs are "100% vegan, raw, cruelty free and are free from any sort of nasty animal testings". Also, they use carefully sourced ingredients (organic, if possible) free of added nasties*.
Each pack smells so much like the true scent of the ingredient itself that you'll start contemplating whether to lick your skin. The scrubs have a grainy texture that's rich and not goopy in the least, and applying it's akin to having a massage with a loofah scrub. Actually, it's way better. After rinsing it off, they leave you feeling much more rejuvenated and revitalized, and the scent lingers on your skin. You'll feel like you just applied baby oil too, which is probably the reason your skin becomes more moisturized.
*nasties meaning weird chemical additives that'll probably send chills up your back if you knew what they truly were
